Domingo de compras, miren lo que me compre, y estoy lista para empezar una nueva colchita.

Looking for a challenge..

Esta semana, después de visitar algunos blogs, y de encontrar maravillas de trabajos realizados por muchas de ustedes, vi tantos trabajos tan creativos que me dieron ganas de hacer algo nuevo , y aquí me tienen acolchando a maquina, la maquina de coser que tengo no es para acolchar, es una maquina de costura recta para taller, si da una cantidad de puntadas por minuto tremendas, es muy rápida y tiene puntadas muy buenas, pero no es para acolchar, de manera que tendré que ahorrar para comprarme una de las maquinas con las cuales se puede acolchar facilmente. pero bueno... como pueden ver, he logrado buenos resultados, me esta gustando acolchar a maquina. Que opinan ustedes.

This week, I have visited so many blogs, and I have found many great quilted work, all made for you, I saw many great creative work, I wanted to do something new, and here you have me, yes I began to quilt by machine, my sewing maching its a big old one, but its not for quilting, its a fast one, it makes real neat stiches, but its not for quilting, so I will have to save some coins to buy a sewing maching to be able to quilt with it. But as you can see, Im doing ok, dont you think so. I like how this pillow case is coming up.

Getting along......

Esta semana, he estado algo ocupada, organizando todo lo que tengo que hacer, siempre es bueno tomar un respiro y ver a donde queremos llegar, para eso , las mujeres nos pintamos solas, y aprovechando que este mes, esta dedicado a la mujer, y en especial a la mujer trabajadora, pues que mejor, que pensar en nosotras, todas aquellas que nos dedicamos a las manualidades, y muy especialmente a las "quilters", la gran mayoría hacemos las colchas en nuestros tiempos libres, después de haber atendido nuestras casas y familia. Llegando a este punto, siempre es bueno tener un pasatiempo que nos llene, que nos ilusione y nos apasione.
Durante algún tiempo he dado clases para hacer colchas a mujeres, de todas clases sociales, últimamente de bajos recursos, y he visto lo que una colcha puede hacer en cada alumna, primero la gran mayoría la hace dudando de ser capaces de hacerla, pero poco a poco, van uniendo sus pedasos de tela, y al mismo tiempo van tomando confianza en si mismas, cuando terminan su primer colcha, y me refiero a colcha grande, ya sea para una cama individual, matrimonial o king size, puedes ver la cara de satisfacción en cada mujer, y cuando regresan a la siguiente clase y me cuentan lo que sus familias opinaron de ellas y de sus colchas, .... Una colcha terminada es igual a un gran triunfo para cada mujer.

This week I have been busy, getting organized, its always good to take a break and wonder where do I want to get, women are very good in this , march is the month dedicated to women, and especialy to working women, well, there are so many women who works on crafts and making quilts, its always good to have a hobby we are happy with it.
For some time, I have been teaching to quilt here in Mexico, its not easy , its so hard to find good fabrics for quilts, so it has become a challenge, most of my students are low income women, but I have seen what a quilt can make for them, they start to quilt with so many doubts about them selves, then as they began to work on their quilt, they get more confident making it, at the time they finish it, you can see them so proud of their quilt, showing it to other students, then they take the finished quilt to their homes, a week later , they can tell us what their familes told them about their quilts, you can see then, what a quilt can make for every one of them, .... every finished quilt is a huge sucess for each one of them.

Toma uno.... toma dos.... Ah, por fin... si claro, esta mañana, para añadir un poco de alegría a la vida, aparecio Miss Kitty justo a la hora de tomar las fotos... como lo hace, esta afuera divertida y justo cuando comienzo a tomar fotos aparece para ponerse a jugar y hacerme las cosas difícil...
*Si las cosas que valen la pena fueran faciles, qualquiera las haria*......no se si quien dijo esta frase, tenia un gato como la mia.

Ah, there you have!!... you are right this morning, to add some joy to my life, miss Kitty showed up just when I was taking some photos... how does she do it, she is outside having some fun out there, and when I began to take photos, she shows up to play around and make things harder for me..... If the things that worths were easy, anybody could do them*... I dont know if the person who said that, had a cat like mine.... :0)

Six pointed star, Estrella de seis picos.

A quilt in process, I like this six pointed star, it can be worked fast to make the top, I choose for this quilt pink, green and beige fabrics, as I like to quilt by hand takes a while to finish my quilts, right now Im quilting another one,
Una colcha en proceso, Me gusta mucho esta estrella de seis picos, se puede trabajar rapido, escogi para esta colcha telas de color rosa, verde y beige, hacer el top es rapido, pero como me gusta acolchar a mano, me lleva un tiempo terminar cada colcha, por el momento estoy acolchando una colcha de hexagonos, se las mostrare mas adelante.
