Quilted Heart, free pattern

Quilted Heart, my new free pattern for you, if you have someone special to give something this Valentine´s Day, maybe you would like to make this heart, or just for yourself, feel free to make as many as you want to make, make it same as i made it or make it your style, I would love to see what you make!
Intructions are easy, you can folow the photos,
1. print the pattern out
2. cut the patterns for the flowers and leaves, and trace them in your fabric, when you cut the fabric, leave 1/4 inch, and trace the pattern in your white or beige fabric, I always put and X where the flowers will be.
3. Embroid first the steams
4. Aplique the flowers, the heart and the leaves.
5, Quilt a little, and do some embroideries or sew some beads, and buttons.
6. Sew the back fabric as it was a pillow, turn it out, stuff it up, and close it with hidden stiches,

Corazón Acolchado, si tienes alguien a quien le quieres regalar algo especial, este Día de San Valentine, tal vez quieras hacer éste corazón acolchado, es muy fácil de hacer, sigue las fotos y las instrucciones.

1. Imprime el patrón
2, Dibuja el patrón en tu tela blanca o beige, y copia los patrones de las flores, hojas y corazón en las telas, al recortarlas deja 1/4 de pulgada como costura,
3. Borda los tallos
4. Aplica las flores, corazón y hojas, y puedes bordarlas para decorarlas, o ponerles algunas cuentas o chaquiras y algunos botones.
5. Cose la parte del revés como si fuera un cojin, voltealo y rellenalo, cierralo con puntadas ocultas.

A little bit more of my 4 season´s quilt, today, I had a day off work, and all morning I could work on my new quilt, and I went to get a few more fabrics in a store about 15 kms from my house, yes, I´m lucky to have found a fabric´s store so close my place, and I was like a little girl in a candy store!!, well I could do a little bit more on my quilt, it´s getting bigger than I wanted it, and I still have more plan for it already,

Un poquito más en mi colcha de las 4 estaciones, hoy fué un día sin trabajo para mi, por lo cual pude trabajar un poco más en mi nueva quilt, y después de eso, a visitar una tienda de telas, que queda solamente a 15 kms de mi casa, se podrán imaginar que gusto me da, una tienda de telas tan cerca!! y como niña en una tienda de dulces, bueno solo compre unas cuantas telitas, y para mi sorpresa, algunas de ellas estan hechas en México, pero no a la venta, de manera que soy afortunada de poder ir a ésta tienda tan cerca de mi casa!!

Hello my dear friends, how you doing?, last night was a windy windy night, over 100 kms per hour, the roof of the house made a lot of noise, Im not sleeping at my home this week, and I must tell you, for a new comer here, this kind of weather is new for me, wind woke me up, around 1 pm, and I checked all the house and it was ok, but
one of the house mate got in panic, around 2 am!!, she thought something bad was happening with the heater sistem in the house, so took me around half hour to calm her down, so not much good sleep for me last night, but any way, I need to get used to the weather during the winter here, I could do some more stiches on my fall cat, it has a face now, here some photos so you can see how this quilt goes!!

Hola mis queridas amigas, cómo han estado?, espero que bien, aquí anoche, fué una noche de mucho viento, más de 100 kms por hora, hacia un ruido tremendo en el techo de la casa, esta semana, por cuestiones de trabajo, no estoy durmiendo en mi propia casa, de manera que me desperte por el ruido a eso de la una de la mañana, chequé toda la casa, y perfecto, de regreso a mi cama, y a eso de las 2 am, mi compañera de casa, en pánico extremo despertó por el ruido, me tomó como media hora tranquilizarla y mostrarle que en la casa todo estaba bien, de manera, que anoche no pude dormir mucho. Pero en fin, así es la vida, lo bueno es que con tanto trabajo y con tan poco dormir, si he podido hacer algo en mi colcha de las 4 estaciones, aquí les pongo unas fotos del gato de otoño, que ya tiene cara, les seguiré poniendo más fotos, para que puedan ver como va mi quilt.

Good day or good night to everybody, yes I know, I have not been a good quilter lately, today is a very cold day here in Southern Quebec, perfect weather to look for an UFO, I should say, I had forgotten about this quilt, now I will work on it and hope to finish it soon, 4 seasons quilt, a small quilt, I will be posting some photos about how I work on it, today, fall.

Buen día o buenas noches a todas, si, lo se, no he estado trabajando mucho en mis quilts últimamente, y hoy es un día verdaderamente frío en el sureste de Quebec, de manera que el clima invita a sacar algún UFO (objetos olvidados, por las iniciales en inglés), y trabajar en el, y aquí tienen la quilt de las 4 estaciones, y hoy ya estoy trabajando en "otoño", ya les iré mostrando como voy trabajando en esta quilt, una quilt pequeña.
Nos vemos pronto por aquí, y tengan listas sus hilazas y agujas, que también ya estoy trabajando en un nuevo patrón para todas ustedes!

Hello my dear friends, hope you´re having a very nice day, I am, this time, I want to share with you this recipe, makes very good cookies, you can make the shape you want or even ginger houses, it really works ok.
I made some big hearts to give as Christmas presents, to make big hearts like these, just draw a big heart in a paper and cut it out, place the heart on your ginger dough and cut the heart with a sharp knife, place the hearts on a baking tray and bake the cookies until they get a little brown on the edges, let them cool on the tray and then you can decorate them with royal icing, let the icing dry before you put the cookies in a bag, if you want to make the cookies with some days before Christmas, keep the cookies in a plastic bag or a container, the flavor will be better when you bake the cookies some days before.

Ginger Cookies

340 grs flour
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon of baking powder
5 tablespoons of honey
180 grs of sugar
120 grs of butter
1 egg

1. Mix together butter and sugar, add the egg.
2. add the honey
3. add all dry ingredients, and mix well, roll your dough and cut your cookies, bake in 180 C until the edges are light brown.

Royal Icing

1 egg white
250 grs, icing sugar
drops of lemon juice

1. beat lightly the egg white
2. add the icing sugar and mix well
3. add the lemon juice drops, as many as you need to make the icing the thick you want.

Hola queridas amigas, ya estoy preparando algunos regalitos de Navidad, y unas galletas de gengibre creo que siempre son bienvenidas como regalo durante la Navidad, por lo que hice éstos corazones grandes de galleta de gengibre con decoraciones de glaseado blanco o royal icing, son faciles de hacer, pueden cortar sus galletas con los cortadores que tienen en casa, y si las hacen algunos días antes de Navidad, el sabor es mucho mejor,

Galletas de Gengibre

340 grms de harina
1 cucharadita de gengibre
1 cucharadita de canela
1 cucharadita de polvo de hornear
5 cucharadas de miel
180 grms de azúcar morena
120 grms de mantequilla
1 huevo

1. acremar la mantequilla y el azúcar juntos, agregar el huevo y batir un poco más, agregar la miel
2. acremar los ingredientes secos y amasar hasta unir toda la masa
3. extender la masa y recortar las galletas, poner en una charola de hornear, y hornear a 180 C hasta que las orillas de las galletas esten ligeramente doradas, sacar del horno y dejar enfriar en la charola.
4. cuando las galletas se enfrien, decorar con royal icing.
5. dejar que el icing seque antes de guardar.

Royal Icing

250 grms de azúcar glass
1 clara de huevo
gotas de jugo de limón

1. batir ligeramente la clara de huevo y agregar el azúcar glass, agregar gotas de jugo de limón mezclar bien, agregar el jugo de limón hasta que el icing este espeso o ligero como lo quieras tu.
2 Guardar tapado.

Hola a todas y todos, espero que esten bien hoy, aquí tienen ya la parte 2 del patrón I love Christmas, solo tienen que imprimir la imagén y transferirla a la tela, lo pueden hacer con lápiz o con marcador especial para telas, el bordado esta hecho con hilaza rojo navideño, con dos hebras, los ojos y los botones del sueter estan hechos con nudo francés, el resto con punto atrás.
Espero se diviertan haciendolo, y las veo pronto aquí para la parte 3.

Hello everybody, here it´s part 1 for "I love Christmas" heart, you need to cut each piece in different white fabric, and sew together following the pattern, when you have done this, don´t cut the pieces into the heart shape, as leaving the pieces the way they are, will give you room enough to put the fabric on the embroidery ring, just draw with pencil or with fabric marker the shape of the heart, part 2 will be the first embroidery design, come back soon, so you can start working or it!!

Hola a todos y todas, aquí esta ya lista la parte 1 del corazón "I love Christmas". Lo que necesitan hacer, es recortar cada cuadro con las medidas que les doy en el patrón en diferentes telas en blanco o beige, coser para unirlas, y no corten la forma del corazón, solo dibujen el contorno del corazón con lápiz o plumón o marcador para tela, dejando los cuadros sin recortar, les dará espacio suficiente para montar la tela en el aro para bordar, dejen un comentario para saber que ya lo tienen listo, para ponerles la parte 2, listas?? ok, vamos a comenzar...

Happy Halloween everybody!!, this is a mini quilt I made a while ago, but this time I just want to do some new stiches on it. Yesterday was a coooooold morning here, you can see how the flowers in the garden got frozen, and today... its just a beautiful day, warm and sun shines!!!

Houses Quilt, hice esta colcha hace dos años, es una colcha para el regazo, no es grande, pero tampoco es pequeña, qué significa una casa para mi, era en lo que pensaba yo en ese tiempo, ya que tenia que tomar la decisión de cambiar de casa y de país en ese entonces, ahora después de dos años, que he cambiado de casa y de país, y vivo en un pequeño pero lindo pueblo en el sur de Quebec, y que estoy contenta trabajando y pensando ya en retomar la creación de nuevas colchas y nuevos proyectos, es hora de sacarla del cajón y terminarla, algunas cosas le faltan, espero pronto terminarla y poder enseñarselas a todas ustedes. Welcome Fall

Hello my dear friends, as you can see, I´m still welcoming Fall, its easy here I think, just looking anywhere, and see all the great maple trees changing colors to dress up in their best fall colors, that gives me a hand to get back to normal, lets me tell you, yesterday morning, it was my day off, as for now Im working at few hours every week, so, I went yesterday morning to pick up apples, yes that is a hard job to do, but I had done it before... hmmm time, yes times goes by, and Im not as young as before, so I havent picked for more than one hour, when I got a real bad pain in my back, oh my, that was pain, lucky my it was just muscular, so I got back home to get some rest (yes, if you are thinking, I screamed, I didnt move for about one hour, youre right, and as Im a lucky person, my DH told me, keep moving, keep moving, nothing better for that pain, than keep moving), well I have to tell you, the keep moving, keep moving, helped me a lot, so here I´m almost 100 % no pain, lucky me!!, well but as Im staying at home this morning too, I got some fabric and some color floss, and Im working on a new stichery... It´s finished now, all I need its to work on the pattern, and I will bring it to you for free... so come back soon!

Hola mis queridas amigas, como pueden ver, sigo dandole la bienvenida al Otoño, pues la verdad, que aquí no es dificil hacerlo, solo tengo que mirar por mi ventana y ver a todos los árboles de maple cambiandose para vestir sus mejores colores otoñales... y dejen que les cuente... como ya estoy trabajando, ayer fué mi día libre, y nada que me alisto para acompañar a mi DH a cosechar manzanas, que por aquí hay unas huertas de manzanas impresionantemente bellas, y solo había cosechado durante una hora más o menos, que me lastimo la espalda, qué dolor!! y ya se pueden imaginar ustedes, sin moverme y en un grito... afortunadamente mi DH me dijo... muevete, sigue moviendote, pues solo es muscular... y solo dar unos pasos el dolor fué menos, de todos modos me tome el día libre y hoy también, y aprovechando esta pausa laboral pues a sacar algunas telas e hilos de colores... unas puntadas por aquí, otras por alla y listo, el pequeño bordado ya esta listo, ahora solo voy a trabajar el patrón y para celebrar que ya estoy bien casi al 100 %, pues en cuanto tenga listo el patrón se los pongo aquí para que se animen a hacerlo.

My quilted pumkin wall panel, before and after is finished, after a few stiches, and some applique work to this mini quilt, think it looks better now, so its ready to decorate my house during this fall, I want to share with you some photos so you can look at it some of the new stiches on it. Hope you like it, also, after 4 days of rain and wet wet weather, I saw this wonderful spider cob, look like a string of cristal beads!! nothing better than nature´s work of art!

Mi panel de pared de la calabaza acolchado ya esta terminado, el antes y después, y la verdad, me gustó el resultado, pienso que luce mejor ahora, de manera que ya esta listo para decorar un rincón de mi casa durante el Otoño, aquí les comparto algunas fotos para que puedan ver algunos detalles de las puntadas y del trabajo de aplicado, espero les guste... y después de 4 días de lluvia y mucha mucha humedad, miren lo que hay en el jardín de la casa, una telaraña con gotas de lluvia, parecen cuentas del cristal, con tanta humedad, no se secan por lo cual permanece así por días, nada mejor que las obras de arte de la naturaleza.

A quilted Pumkin wall panel, I made it about two years ago, its time to decorate house for fall, this mini quilt now looked to me simple, so with a needle and some floss will give it a new look, lots of stiches still to be done, but its always fun to see how with some stiches a mini quilt can change a lot, Ill be back soon to show it finished...

Un panel para la pared con una calabaza, hace unos dos años que la hice, y como ya es tiempo de decorar la casa para el Otoño, es hora de sacar las pocas decoraciones que tengo para ésta estación del año, y viendo la mini quilt, sencilla y un poco simple, de manera que con algunos hilos de colores y muchas puntadas, espero darle una nueva vida... espero terminarla pronto y venir a compartir con ustedes el resultado final, mientras tanto, les deseo un muy buen fin de semana.

Quilted Owl Mini Quilt

I found a little piece of an old tree root, I took it home with me last week, with the idea to make something with it... it came up perfect for this mini quilt, a branch where a quilted owl can stand on and take a look around.
The owl is made with a paper piecing pattern, I could call this quilt finished, but I still have some ideas for it, I will wait, and see if I go for them, if I do, I will show it here again, mean while, take care and enjoy every moment.

Encontré una pequeña raiz de árbol en el bosque, la traje a casa con la idea de hacer algo con ella... haciendo ésta pequeña quilt con un buho, me vino perfecta, como una pequeña rama en donde el buho puede posarse para descansar un poco y tomarse un tiempo para mirar a su alrededor.
Por ahora creo que la mini quilt está terminada, aunque todavía tengo una que otra idea más para ella, en caso de que me anime, voy a enseñarselas aquí, mientras tanto, cuidense y disfruten cada momento.

Mis queridos amigas y amigos, muchas gracias por continuar visitandome, no he posteado últimamente aquí mucho, mmm, pero bueno, he estado tan entretenida viendo todas las maravillas de la naturaleza de ésta tierra (país), y hoy en la mañana dí un paseo por el campo, y como si estuvieran todos de acuerdo, vean lo que me encontré, muchos hongos, de varios tamaños, desde los más pequeños hasta los más grandes, en los troncos o en el pasto, de colores o blancos, con texturas o sin ellas, pero todos bellos e interesantes, espero que los disfruten como si en la mañana dieron la vuelta por el campo conmigo.

Buen día a todos y a todas, aquí en Canadá, hoy es el día más cálido del año, temperaturas arriba de los 30 grados, y con la humedad, se siente como más de 40 grados C. la verdad, me la paso bajo la sombra y bebiendo agua fresca... y bebiendo más agua fresca... pero creo que lo mejor que puedo hacer, es relajarme y disfrutar el momento. Hello, today I have been busy working, the garden is now so green and full with fresh flowers, last night it rained all night, I saw some daffodils had bad moments during the night, so I got a few, they are so pretty, at my desk now, I have some spring company, some daffodils and a lady bug. I think the lady bug was courious about what I was doing, do you think she liked my embroidery?

Hoy, he estado ocupada trabajando... de manera que me tome un descanso para salir a caminar al jardín, anoche llovio toda la noche, a ratos el clima fue bastante tormentoso, los narcisos en el jardín llevaron la peor parte, los tallos de algunos estaban doblados, por esta razón tome algunos para ponerlos en mi escritorio, ahora pueden ver como luce, un bordado y algunas acuarelas en proceso sobre el, incluso una catarina que andaba paseando cerca se acerco a ver el bordado... le habrá gustado?

Hello dear friends, I want to tell you what I have been doing lately, the reason for what I have been not working much on my quilts is, I have moved to Canada, took me some time to sell or give away all my things in Mexico, I never thought it could take me lots of time and work to do it, now, Im here in Canada, looking to make a new lifestyle for myself and my husband, I only could take one bag in the plane, so I had to choose what things I could bring here, only one bag!!! so I left all my fabrics, my stach is empty now, and I havent find a fabric store in the area where I live now,
it will take me some time to get use to drive in this area and find all the stores I need, it will take me also some time to work out all the papers I need to do before I can look for a job.
So, mean while, Im getting used to the weather. Colder, and my husband told me how to make natural Maple Syrup!!! in the back yard there is a big Soft Maple syrup, he showed me how to set everything in the tree to get the sap, I can tell you, this is an amazing adventure for me, for the first time I could taste the sap, to watch how it comes out of the tree, so clear and its taste is light and with maple taste in it.
It is a job to do it, every two hours I got out to get the sap, and keep boiling it for about 12 hours, (all home made), and finally I got it.
Its flavor is light, but its so great I could make it,

Hola mis queridos amigos, les voy a contar por que no he estado publicando mucho últimamente en mi blog, me mude al Canadá, estuve un poco ocupada en México, desocupando mi casa, vendiendo o regalando todas mis cosas, nunca pensé que siendo mi casa tan chica y teniendo tan pocas cosas, me podría llevar tanto tiempo hacerlo, pero finalmente viaje acá, el avión solo me permitió traer una maleta, por lo cual deje muchas cosas, y por ahora no tengo telas con las cuales ponerme a trabajar en nuevos proyectos de quilts, todavía, estoy ocupada aquí haciendo todo el papeleo para tener todos mis papeles y poder buscar un trabajo, al igual que me llevara un poco de tiempo buscar y encontrar tiendas de telas en el área en donde estoy viviendo ahora.

Mientras todo esto ocurre en mi vida, mi marido, como sabe que me gusta estar ocupada en algo, y como ustedes saben, una mujer ocupada y entretenida en algo que le gusta, pues no da lata... me ha enseñado a hacer miel de maple
Me enseño como se debe perforar el árbol, ya que en el patio trasero de la casa hay un árbol de maple suave, y ver como el líquido tan trasparente llamado SAP sale del árbol, muy trasparente y con un sabor ya en el a maple, he estado ocupada, pues cada dos horas he tenido que recolectar el SAP y ponerlo a hervir durante 12 horas, ya que necesito 15 litros de SAP para obtener medio litro de miel,
Pero al final el resultado me ha recompenzado enormente, el jarabe de maple que he logrado hacer, es de buena calidad y de buen sabor.

Les dejo ahora, ya que tengo que seguir hirviendo más SAP, pasen un lindo fin de semana.

A black quilt, with brilliant colors, am I getting into the liberated quilts, I think so, this quilt is a comission, one that keeps a long time in the UFOS, the reason, I didnt like the black, sometimes things changes with time, when I got this comission, just thinking to work with black solid fabric took the quilt to the UFOS zone, but now Im really enjoying making it, Im working on it, need to finish it this week.

He trabajado duramente en ella en los últimos días, y la tengo que terminar ésta semana.

I also made this bib and burp, this time with a little bear, paper piecing, very easy and fast to make it.

También hice un babero y un trapito con un pequeño oso, con la técnica del paper piecing, fácil y divertido de hacer.

Bueno, debo decirles, que ésta vez, mi hijo tenía razón, je je, un monstruo se lo comío, y mi hijo tenía razón al decir ... Mamá!!!

Debo decirles también, qué esta es mi primera historieta con un personaje tejido, la
verdad me divertí mucho al tejerlo y al hacer la historieta, si les gustaría hacer una pequeña funda de monstruo, dejenme un comentario.

Hello my dear readers, Im getting ready for Christmas, let me show you the two little sweaters I knitted for my grand son, well one is a set with a hat and a pair of mittens. One in blue, and one in red, one little , one a little bit bigger,
It has been lots of fun to learn how to knit this Fair Isle knitting, can´t stop now.
Please dont tell anything about these two little Christmas present to my daughter in law, hope it will be a surprise for her!!

FINGERLESS MITTENS.

We are having the coldest month of December in a long time, every morning with temps below cero, even to -6 C, our houses are not build for those cool or I should say cold temps, so I began to knit and knit, and knit.
I began to knit as you know for my grand son, but then as a challenge, I began to knit the mittens, last week I visited my mom in Puebla, her house there was cold also, my sister told me, my mom had her fingers cold all the time, so she put on one finished mitten, as Im knitting with wool, fantastic wool made in Peru for babies, the mittens are soft, light and warm, after 10 minutes my mom put it on, her hand was warm, her fingers were warm, so I knitted for her a pair, now she can play with her Ipad, with her fingerless mittens, and keep her fingers warm all the time.

These two pairs, a neighbour asked me for, they will be given to her sons teacher as Christmas present, I think teachers would find them warm to wear them in cold mornings.

Well, Im off now to keep knitting, have more mittens to knit.

Un par de mitones sin dedos y una banda para la cabeza en blanco, en estambre de lana hecho en Peru.
Son tan calientitos y fáciles de hacer, espero le guste a la persona que se los voy a regalar :D,

Four weeks before Christmas, longer nights, my house smell now to ginger cookies and to Friendship Tea.
I made this advent decoration using an old cupboard box of cream cheese, I did some papier mache in it, with brown paper and home made glue (flour, sugar and water), four little unexpensive candles and some little branches of a pine tree, a little white lace and a mini quilt,
We dont need to spend lots of money to live the Holidays traditions, Just look what you have in your house and be creative. You can do it too.

Ya cuatro semanas antes de la Navidad. Noches más largas, mi casa hoy huele a galletas de gengibre y te de la amistad.
Hice este arreglo de adviento, reciclando una caja de una barra de más de un kilo de queso crema, un poco de papel mache, hecho con papel craft y engrudo (pegamento casero a base de harina, azúcar y agua), cuadro veladoras pequeñas, baratas, un poco de ramas de cedro de un árbol de enfrente de la casa, y una mini quilt, no hace falta gastar mucho para seguir las tradiciones. Espero se animen a hacer el suyo, en caso de que ya lo tengan, dejen un comentario, para ponerlas en la lista de abajo. :), espero se animen!!

Hello everybody, I hope youre having a good week begining, this week my agenda has a couple of projects already on it, and both of them in yellow, must be the season, the country here is still green and fresh, but we are having a very cold mornings, sometimes, they reach zero degrees in the morning, and that is cool for us, soon the field will be with frost on it, and everything will go dry and yellow, so, that must be the reson for my two projects are in yellow.
I began a new baby quilt, this time in yellow, with a modern design, and so easy to make, next step is quilting, by hand, then I will add something more on it, I will show it to you as soon as I finish it.
I also began a new knitting, as sometimes I need to do something different for a while, and thinking of cool weather, and Christmas... hmmm, I better start making some Christmas presents, even my list is not long, I better begin to make them. This time Im knitting or trying to knit a pair of Fair Isle mittens, and belive me, this is a real challenge, but it is so fun to knit, the more I knit the more I want to finish it and see how it looks like. Hope to finish the first pair soon, now, dont tell anybody what Im knitting, I hope to give them as a Christmas present... keep the secret.

This week I have been busy knitting, I have always love the scandinavian sweaters, I have been looking and visiting some wonderful knitting blogs, here in the internet, you can find outstanding sweaters, so I got some wool, and began to knit, something small, a baby sweater, as Im a self thaught knitter, sometimes takes me time to understand how I must do, and its so difficult for me to read the instructions, more in english, but Im very happy with the little sweater.

Welcome fall, now my house entry has this look, mornings here are turning into fresh and wet, a little bit cold I could say, you might never thought about a town here in mexico that can turn cold, yes that can happens here, (not as bad as many towns and city where you live, but it turns cold for us), I wanted to make something to welcome friends and family to my home in colors I rarely use, orange and yellow, well it turned out very nice, I like how my little living room looks like, and the wild flowers smell so nice.
